Schoodic Head

Rising just 440 feet above sea level, Schoodic Head is a highpoint along the east coast of Maine. It’s located in the only mainland portion of Acadia National Park, which is the Schoodic Peninsula in Winter Harbor.

Four intersecting trails lead to the top of Schoodic Head. The hike will be about 3 miles long and includes rocky sections that will require you to lift your knees high to step from one rock to the next. The trip will also include plenty of stops at cobblestone beaches and dramatic rock outcroppings along the coast. And there is the option to add more miles of additional trails in that section of the park to lengthen your adventure.
