Pricing for hikes & nature walks
How does pricing work?
The cost of Maine Nature Hikes trips varies depending on activity, location, and how many people are in your group. Remember: During the hike, you’ll learn about local flora and fauna, history, and geology. These are interpretive hikes, meaning they’re designed to be a fun learning experience.
Typically, a half-day hike is 3.5-4 hours, while a full-day hike is 7-8 hours.
The exception is Katahdin, the Bigelows, and other large mountains, which may require up to 10 hours to complete. These estimates do not include driving time.
We enjoy providing lunch, snacks, and drinks for our hikers/campers, but we understand that some prefer to bring their own food and drink. When making your reservation, we will ask you what you prefer. Food and drinks cost $10-$20 extra per person, depending on the length of the hike.
Group hike prices vary and can be found on the group adventure schedule page.
Hiking Trip Prices
Acadia National Park & surrounding area

This pricing includes rental backpacks and survival gear (such as a headlamp, waterproof matches, and an emergency blanket).
Food and drinks are an extra $10 per person for a half-day hike or $20 per person for a full-day hike.
Baxter State Park (not including Katahdin) & other Maine hikes outside the Acadia region

Food and drinks are an extra $10 per person for a half-day hike or $20 per person for a full-day hike.
Katahdin, Maine’s tallest mountain
Katahdin is arguably Maine’s most challenging hike, and it’s a wonderful experience. The climb could take 12-14 hours.
Pricing is $385 for a 1:1 private trip, or $255 per person for a group trip of upto four people. This includes parking reservations, transportation into the park, snacks, lunch and a special drink — and of course a full day being guided up and down the mountain!
If you want to hike Katahdin, we advise that you make your reservation with us months ahead of time so we have a better chance of reserving a parking spot at the trailhead. Katahdin trailheads fill up quickly from mid-June to September. If you want to hike the mountain in September or October, we may be able to reserve a spot with shorter notice. We can always try!
